SYMMETRICAL UNIVERSE | STUDIO 2051

Drawing

The world around us is frequently cluttered, disorganized, unbalanced and in disarray.
Objects are tilted, lines that should be straight or parallel are not.

In studio Suite 2051, at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, Stephen Pitts uses his art to try and make sense of it all, creating microcosms of perfection where every object is connected and serves a purpose. Pitts’ work is pen and ink drawings, using traditional drafting tools to make the design and draw the final image free hand in ink using Rapidograph 3×0 pens.

“My art is inspired by my interest in mechanical design, architectural renderings, crystallography and military technology” says Pitts. “Every detail has a geometric relationship with the whole image and is arranged in a logical orderly way. The result is an image that creates a sense of natural order, harmony and balance.”
