Peace Smith and Travis Hicks came to stained glass relatively recently, falling in love with it after their first class at Burritt on the Mountain (where they now teach), but both have always been artists! Peace has been a musician, dancer, and fiber artist her entire life and has a Master of Arts in Museum Studies. Travis has been creating - primarily in 3D - his entire life, with a love of unusual materials and media, though his education took him in a more technical direction with a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering.

Their process is highly collaborative, with Peace and Travis combining their individual talents and artistic viewpoints to create their art. They enjoy bringing modern twists to the very traditional medium that is stained glass. Not content to limit themselves to one medium, they also work with jewelry, fiber, wood, metal, epoxy and more.
