Melissa Lott | STUDIO 1027 | GREEN MOUNTAIN SLOW GOODS AND LUCKY CAT DESIGNS
Jewlery
Melissa Lott and Tatiana Botero are a mother/daughter team working together to learn and grow skills in metalsmithing and beadwork at Green Mountain Slow Goods and Lucky Cat Designs at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment in Studio 301. “Slow Goods” is a reference to the methods and materials we use. They scratch-make semiprecious jewelry completely by hand using basic metalsmithing techniques and responsibly purchased metals and minerals.
Melissa Lott (Green Mountain Slow Goods) is a native of Huntsville, AL and wasn’t quite ready to return to the office after the pandemic ended. She’s currently on sabbatical, finally exploring a craft that she first discovered on an elementary school field trip to the Panoply Arts Festival almost 40 years ago.
Tatiana Botero (Lucky Cat Designs) is an Army brat and Huntsville local who will practically work for free wherever her dog, Truman is welcome, especially if there’s any metal to be melted.
