KAR’S CHAR | STUDIO RR 5

Culinary Arts, Independent Business

James Emery and Thomas Langford had been selling soap at the Lowe Mill A&E Outdoor Market on Saturdays. After being at Lowe Mill A&E, they thought it was a really awesome community. When Emery and Langford found out there was a restaurant space available at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, they knew what they had to do. Open a barbecue restaurant. “We talked about opening a restaurant and when we found out there was an opening at Lowe Mill A&E. We decided to open a restaurant together and with the two of us it had to be a bbq restaurant.” said Langford. So this week Emery and Langford opened Kar’s Char Texas Style BBQ in Railroad Room 5 at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment. Thomas makes the barbecue and James makes the sides. Kar’s Texas Style BBQ offers Brisket, pulled pork, brisket burritos, green chili bacon cheese burgers, BBQ Frito pie, macaroni and cheese, vinegar slaw, potatoes salad, Italian pasta salad, chips and banana pudding to top it off! They offer Mexican sodas, Coke products and bottled water to wash it down.
