Discover the art and elegance of traditional Japanese bookbinding in this hands-on workshop. Participants will learn how to create a beautifully handcrafted book using the Japanese stab binding technique, a centuries-old method known for its decorative stitching and versatility.
Guided by an experienced instructor, students will explore the cultural history behind stab binding, select their own papers and covers, and master stitching patterns such as the classic four-hole (yotsume toji).
By the end of the class, each participant will leave with a unique, hand-bound book—perfect for journaling, sketching, or gift-giving.
No prior bookmaking experience is necessary. All materials will be provided.
