HTMA Coffeehouse Presents : The Steel City Jug Slammers and Marylyn and Mike
January 21 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Huntsville Traditional Music Association | Studio 1038
The Huntsville Traditional Music Association Studio 1038 in melodic Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment opens its doors to The Steel City Jug Slammers: the first headliners of their Coffeehouse series of 2026! This show promises to be a joyful, time-traveling musical experience you won’t want to miss. Hailing from Birmingham, this nationally celebrated band has been featured by NPR and has swept top honors at jug band competitions across the country, captivating audiences with the irresistible charm of jugs, washtub bass, banjo, and a collection of wonderfully inventive homemade instruments. Their performances feel like stepping into another era—when musicians hopped off trains to dazzle cabaret crowds with wit, rhythm, and raw joy—yet their energy feels completely alive and electric today. Inducted into the Jug Band Hall of Fame in 2017, the Slammers have shared stages with Dom Flemons, Old Crow Medicine Show, Rebirth Brass Band, Molly Tuttle, and more, and were honored to help celebrate Pete Seeger’s 100th birthday.
The evening opens with beloved North Alabama duo Marylyn Coffey and Mike Perry, whose warm, grin-inducing harmonies set the perfect tone for an unforgettable night.
