Currently on View: Stephanie Weaver – Animal Tales

This exhibition round includes works provided by Stephanie Weaver which will be on view in the First Floor Main Gallery from November 22, 2023  – February 3, 2024.  Lowe Mill A&E invites patrons and art lovers to join us for Open Studio Night, a building-wide experience when our over 150 studios will be open to the public.  The evening also includes receptions for all seven of our gallery spaces. This series gives the public a chance to meet and interact with visiting artists and discuss their work as it is on display and available for purchase. Come out, enjoy a pleasant evening, and maybe you’ll find that special piece of art that speaks to you!  The Open Studio Night reception is Saturday, February 3 from 5-7 pm.

 

About the exhibit:

In “Animal Tales,” I invite you to delve into a world where animals take center stage to tell their stories; stories of uniqueness, resilience, and what might occur if the underdogs had their day in the sun. This series of oil paintings explores the intricate connections between humans and the animal kingdom, using the whimsical lens of anthropomorphism to shed light on the wisdom and relatability of our fellow creatures.

As I observed the world around me, I couldn’t help but notice the discord, greed, increased narcissism, and general selfishness of human behavior. It led me to ponder: what if the animals represented the way to do things right?  “Animal Tales” serves as a mirror to our own world, encouraging us to contemplate the consequences of our actions and the possibilities that arise when the underrepresented find their voices. It is a celebration of the wisdom, resilience, and relatability that animals bring to our lives, as well as a gentle reminder of the potential for change if we pause to listen and learn from the stories they have to tell.

I hope that as you explore “Animal Tales,” you will find inspiration in the world of animals, and perhaps, like me, discover a renewed appreciation for their unique qualities and the lessons they can impart. May these paintings serve as a bridge between our human experiences and the captivating stories of the animal kingdom, inviting us to consider what could happen if we all embraced the wisdom and uniqueness that exists within us and around us.

 

About the artist:

Stephanie Weaver is the creative force behind the captivating “Animal Tales” art exhibition, is a multifaceted artist whose journey is as diverse as the animals in her paintings. With a background that includes an MBA and a distinguished career in program management for a Huntsville-based R&D company and other fortune 500 companies, Stephanie has seamlessly woven her artistic passion into the fabric of their life.

Stephanie is not only an accomplished artist but also an author, having penned the insightful and instructional book “Art Pricing Secrets: Ethically Pricing Creativity. The Formula That Works.” This book is a testament to their commitment to empowering fellow artists with the knowledge and tools to navigate the art market with integrity and confidence using math, the universal language of truth, over feelings to price artwork.

In addition to her writing endeavors, Stephanie is a co-host of the popular podcast “Artists Soar,” where Stephanie and her fellow co hosts and artists, Rachel Harchanko and Jules McCullough, engage in thought-provoking discussions with fellow creatives, sharing insights into the art world and the creative process. Their dedication to fostering a supportive community of artists is evident in every episode.

Furthermore, Stephanie has gained recognition in the digital realm, particularly on YouTube, where her channel has been steadily growing in popularity.
