Emily Wallace is a dedicated textile artisan and fiber arts instructor based in Studio 311 at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment in North Alabama. With a deep passion for preserving traditional craft and connecting to local resources, Emily creates one-of-a-kind handwoven pieces using locally-sourced fibers. Her expertise spans weaving, dyeing, spinning, and processing raw fibers, showcasing a profound commitment to her craft.
Emily also stewards a small flock of Gulf Coast Native Sheep, a rare conservation breed native to the Southern United States. By integrating sustainable practices with her artistry, she honors the region's rich fiber heritage while promoting environmental and cultural preservation.
Emily offers private and small group classes year-round, teaching a wide range of fiber arts techniques. Her workshops include rigid heddle and frame loom weaving, yarn and fiber dyeing, Shibori dyeing, yarn spinning (wheel and drop spindle), raw fleece processing, knitting, crochet, and more.
