MIXED MEDIA, PAINTING, PRINTMAKING

"Through my primary medium of relief printmaking, I enjoy giving permanence to otherwise transitory moments in time by depicting fleeting scenes from nature, incorporating perishable natural objects, and using materials from the past. My prints are an intersection of traditional printmaking techniques and experimentation with mixed mediums and found materials such as vintage ephemera and foraged natural objects. While printmaking requires technical control of materials, it also allows for sometimes unanticipated outcomes in my pieces. I enjoy that such a controlled medium can always lead me to an exciting end result, and I learn something new with each print I create.

The process itself is very intimate, with each detailed step passing through my hands. I hope that this is evident through viewing my prints and that they give the viewer an appreciation of the overlooked beauty in the small moments that occur in nature."
