Aaron Kilgore | Studio RR 5A | The Eclectic Frog
MIXED MEDIA
Aaron Kilgore welcomes visitors into The Eclectic Frog, a working artist’s studio where art, history, and curiosity intersect. Part creative workspace, part cabinet of curiosities, the studio is filled with antique artifacts, natural history, oddities, ephemera, and works in progress. Every visit offers an opportunity to discover something unexpected and to witness the creative process firsthand.
As a mixed-media artist, Aaron transforms bones, historic paper, reclaimed materials, and found objects into assemblage sculptures that explore memory, transformation, and the passage of time. Alongside his artistic practice, he preserves and interprets history through archival research, historical documents, and material culture, uncovering the stories hidden within forgotten objects and giving them new life through both scholarship and art.
Self-described as a “professional chaos goblin with archival tendencies,” Aaron is equally at home elbow-deep in centuries-old manuscripts, covered in papier-mâché, cataloging an unusual artifact, or building an entirely improbable sculpture. Curiosity is the common thread that ties it all together.
“I explore the intersection of history, nature, and memory through ephemera, found objects, bones, and reclaimed materials, blending the past with the natural world to tell compelling stories.” - Aaron Kilgore
