Timothy Joe – Expanding Boundaries
May 29 - July 27
Third Floor West Gallery
This exhibition round includes works provided by Timothy Joe which will be on view in the Third Floor West Gallery from May 29 – July 27, 2024. Lowe Mill A&E invites patrons and art lovers to join us for Open Studio Night, a building-wide experience when our over 150 studios will be open to the public. The evening also includes receptions for all seven of our gallery spaces. This series gives the public a chance to meet and interact with visiting artists and discuss their work as it is on display and available for purchase. Come out, enjoy a pleasant evening, and maybe you’ll find that special piece of art that speaks to you! The Open Studio Night reception is Saturday, July 27 from 5-7 pm.
About the exhibit:
I grew up with limited self imposed boundaries like places I can go, the art that I create, and the level of faith to believe greater. There are paintings I haven’t made because I believed I wasn’t “good enough” to create them. The Lord challenged me to paint greater as well as believe greater. Expanding Boundaries is my mindset of stepping out on faith with high expectations for new blessings, people, and experiences.
About the artist:
Timothy Michael Joe is a self taught artist raised in the rural town of Greensboro, Alabama. His love of art started at the age four and in his teens, he participated in arts and crafts festivals. Timothy produced artwork for galleries and commissioned work. He creates art based on themes associated with southern rural culture concerning God, family, and heritage. He enjoys using his art to educate, uplift, and encourage others. He is a NASA employee and lives in Huntsville with his wife and two kids. He teaches landscape art in soft pastels online and in person.
