Cassie's art starts in the garden, where she grows gourds that later become her artistic canvases. After months of growing, harvesting and drying each gourd, she cleans and prepares them for a new life as works of art. No two gourds are alike, which means every piece is truly one-of-a-kind. Cassie leans into each gourd's natural quirks to guide how she carves, cuts, and paints it. Some gourds become birdhouses, others transform into thunder gourds, feeders, or sculptural designs. In total, these gourds take at least one year to go from seedling to finished masterpiece! Above all, Cassie believes art should make people smile, giggle, or even burst out laughing. Life is just too short not to laugh through art!
