PAINTING

Paula Ethridge is an impressionist oil painter and mixed media artist whose work is rooted in storytelling, memory, and emotional connection. A lifelong resident of Huntsville, Alabama, Paula spent twenty-two years as an elementary school teacher before pursuing the dream she carried for years - to become a full-time artist.

She studied with respected local artists Jack Dempsey, David Parrish, Jennifer Taylor, and Ann Steverson, whose guidance helped shape her artistic voice. She also expanded her practice through workshops and painting experiences in several European countries.

Inspired by the beauty and spirit of the South, Paula creates landscapes, nature scenes, and figurative paintings that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with their own memories. Rather than simply depicting a person or place, she seeks to tell a story - one that leaves space for the viewer's imagination while revealing something deeply personal.

Visitors to Paula's studio at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment will find a diverse collection of original paintings celebrating Southern culture, everyday beauty, and quiet moments. Through expressive brushwork and layered textures, her work offers collectors not just an image, but an experience - one that invites them to slow down, remember, and connect.

"Every painting is a reflection of who I am. My hope is that someone will discover a piece of their own story in my work and leave with a feeling that lingers long after they've walked away."
