WALLACE TURMAN | STUDIO 1066

Ceramics
Wallace Turman is a ceramicist whose love for clay began in childhood while playing in the sand at his grandmother’s house in Enon, Alabama. Over the years, that early fascination grew into a lifelong passion for pottery. He hand-molds his clay and uses basic tools to create pieces that are both original and functional. With over three decades of experience, his work showcases a mastery of clay bodies, glazing techniques, throwing, and free-form shaping. Since 2017, Wallace and his wife, Jackie, have been proud members of the Lowe Mill community, where he continues to share his craft.
“My work is original, functional, and valuable in our culturally diverse world. Through vibrant colors and unique designs, I highlight a vessel’s true purpose: its functionality. Pottery fulfills me, allowing me to create art that is both beautiful and practical.”
