SUMMARY:Brett Hollis - Ecosystems: Paintings and Drawings 2025-26
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition round includes works provided by Brett Hollis which will be on view in the First Floor Main Gallery from June 3 – August 29\, 2026.  Lowe Mill A&E invites patrons and art lovers to join us for Open Studio Night\, a building-wide experience when our over 150 studios will be open to the public.  The evening also includes receptions for all seven of our gallery spaces. This series gives the public a chance to meet and interact with visiting artists and discuss their work as it is on display and available for purchase. Come out\, enjoy a pleasant evening\, and maybe you’ll find that special piece of art that speaks to you!  The Open Studio Night reception is Saturday\, August 29 from 5-7 pm. \n  \nAbout the exhibit: \nThis exhibition is a range of work from 2025-2026. Thematically\, the work reveals  psychological vignettes\, moments of tension\, reflection\, and transformation. Drowning  the viewer’s senses with colorful and kinetic forms\, the pieces invite immersion into  emotional and perceptual intensity. Each work operates as a fragment of a larger internal narrative\, oscillating between chaos and clarity\, instinct and control. Through  movement\, color\, and abstraction\, the exhibition captures the flux of the human psyche  in motion. \n  \nAbout the artist: \nBrett Hollis is an artist known for creating works that blend abstract\, cartoon\, and  contemporary art styles. His pieces often feature vibrant colors\, whimsical forms\,  and dynamic compositions\, evoking playful yet thought-provoking themes. Hollis’s approach bridges traditional and modern art\, combining the expressive freedom  of abstraction with the storytelling elements of cartoons\, resulting in works that  are accessible and visually captivating. His art appeals to those seeking creativity  that defies conventional boundaries while celebrating modern artistic expression. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Slow Art Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:Experience Slow Art Day in the spirit of something quieter\, deeper\, and a little more electric – where time loosens its grip and the art begins to speak in its own rhythm at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment. \nThis is an international event shared by museums and art spaces across the world\, yet its invitation is beautifully simple: Slow down. Look longer. Let the artwork breathe. Let your eyes listen. Guests are invited to spend 5 to 10 minutes (or more) with each selected piece\, long enough for the surface to soften and something honest beneath it to rise. \nOn Saturday\, April 11th from 11 AM to 3 PM\, Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment hosts this experience inside the First Floor Main Gallery with works from the ALMAC Exhibit. Visitors are welcomed into a quiet\, reflective space where looking slowly becomes its own kind of music: steady\, intimate\, and unexpected. \nAt 3 PM\, Robert Daniel\, our Gallery Coordinator\, will welcome participants in Studio 1065 and guide the post-looking discussion\, helping to shape a shared conversation around what was seen\, what was missed\, and what revealed itself only in stillness. \nWe gather. We speak softly. We listen a little closer than before. \nCome as you are. Leave a little changed. Slow down with us at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment\, and let the art take its time telling you what it knows.

SUMMARY:LaShonda Scott Robinson - The Art is Me
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition round includes works provided by LaShonda Scott Robinson which will be on view in the First Floor Main Gallery from September 24 – November 22\, 2025. The Open Studio Night reception is Saturday\, November 22 from 5-7 pm. \n  \nAbout the exhibit: \nI have been exhibiting my art for twenty years. Yet\, still\, I feel as if I am opening my heart  and allowing everyone to view my soul.  \nThe Art is Me. I took a DNA test and discovered my ancestry is African\, Native American\,  French\, Welsh\, German\, and Swiss. This revelation made me compassionate for the  traumatic journey that begets my diverse and complex heritage.  \nI illustrate raw emotions conveyed through body language. Emotions are universal. They  transcend cultural boundaries and connect us all. As an artist\, I aspire to motivate others  to embrace their unique heritage while fostering a connection to humanity through our  shared emotional experiences.  \nArt is like looking into a mirror. So\, though I paint through the gaze of a black woman  – when my art resonates with your soul\, the art becomes a reflection of you. And  because of the emotional connection\, you can look at my art and honestly say\, The Art is Me! \n  \nAbout the artist: \nLaShonda Scott Robinson is a self-taught watercolor artist who calls Tuscaloosa\, AL  home.  \nLaShonda captures deep\, often unspoken emotions through body language. She chooses  not to paint faces\, believing that while our expressions might hide our feelings\, our bodies  always reveal our true selves.  \nHer art has been featured in Momentum National MS Society Magazine\, Design for  Dyslexia 2024 Show House in Tuscaloosa\, AL\, a feature on Tabitha Brown’s Very Good  Mondays\, Tina Knowles (The mother of Beyoncé) WACO Theater Wearable Art Gala\,  Judge Mathis E! Network series Mathis Family Matters\, Descendants: The Rise of Red\,  and many solo exhibitions.  \nLaShonda is happily married with one son. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:DaNeal Eberly - Scratch
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition round includes works provided by DaNeal Eberly which will be on view in the First Floor Main Gallery from October 2 – November 23 2024. The Open Studio Night reception is Saturday\, November 23 from 5-7 pm. \n  \nAbout the exhibit: \nScratch that itch. The itch to explore\, to create\, to connect through paint.  \nScratch into it. Dig deeper with a sharp object or a sharp eye. Be willing and bold enough to leave a mark. \nNo. Scratch that. Cancel the sanctimony. Strike out the self-doubt with a pen or pencil. Or a palette knife. Or a brush. Or a randomly selected color (maybe not as random as you hoped). \nSometimes a scratch is a scar. A sign that someone\, something broke the skin. Somehow you were wounded and it left a mark. The scratch left a scar. Maybe as I walk and love and learn\, the scar becomes a greater symbol of healing. The scratch intended to harm became a catalyst to rebuild and resume.  I’m not the victim of the broken skin\, broken promises\, broken dreams. I am the one who refused to fold. Still creating and questioning.  As a creator\, I made myself from scratch. I took whatever was available to me: Time\, Paint\, Experience\, Loss\, Love\, Desire\, Creativity and assembled something. Probably not of the highest quality but distinctly mine. I hope something I created gives a moment of connection or recognition.  \n  \nAbout the artist: \nDaNeal Eberly was born and raised in Lubbock\, Texas. She graduated with a Fine Arts Degree from Texas Tech University in 1997. She has lived and created art all over the United States. Currently\, she lives and paints in Montgomery\, Alabama. Her work is part of the permanent collection of Jackson Hospital. Also\, she has had work displayed at the University of Maryland\, The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and is represented by The Attic Gallery in Vicksburg\, Mississippi and Gallery 905 in Selma and Stonehenge Gallery in Montgomery\, Alabama.  She has had solo shows at Lowe Mill A&E in Huntsville\, Alabama\, The Carnegie Visual Arts Center in Decatur\, Alabama\, The Armory in Montgomery\, Alabama and Kru on Mt. Meigs in Montgomery\, Alabama. She has also been in a number of group shows. She also leads a Life Drawing group in Montgomery and occasionally teaches workshops. Her day job involves teaching after school art programs to preschool and elementary students. Her work is largely focused on  figure drawing and portraiture and she also likes to dabble in abstracts.  \n  \nInstagram:  @artbydaneal \n  \nTo find the the gallery in Lowe Mill A&E\, click MORE INFO below (Tickets are NOT required.) \n
